July 24, 2001, Shanghai International Autocity Development Co., Ltd came into existence.
2September 28, 2001, construction of SIAC commenced in an all-round way. On the same day, three functional projects, namely, Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center, Automotive College of Tongji University and Shanghai Used-car Exchange Market, started construction.
December 10, 2001, “Shanghai International Automobile City 2001.12 Investment Promotion News Release Conference” was held in Shanghai New Asia Tomson Hotel.
October 30, 2002, “2002 Shanghai International Automobile City Investment Promotion Conference” was held in Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center International Hotel.
April 1, 2003, Auto Show & Trade Street in the Central Business District started construction.
August 3, 2004, Shanghai Auto Museum started construction.
October 2004, Auto Show & Trade Street (first phase) was put into operation. October 14, Challenge Bibendum Public Day was successfully held.
November 11, 2004, Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center started construction.
September-October 2005, show & sales activity of Shanghai International Auto Culture Festival was conducted. September 28, the first Shanghai Auto Culture Festival held its opening ceremony in Auto Expo Park.
October 2005, Schaeffler (China) Investment Co., Ltd entered R&D Area.
December 30, 2005, OPTIMA-ROUSH Automobile System (Shanghai) Co., Ltd and SAIC Automotive Engineering Academy held their groundbreaking ceremonies. Shanghai Auto Parts Global Sourcing Center was established.
March 10, 2006, Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center was completed Imported Automobile Exposition Shanghai 2006 was held.
June 23, 2006, Investment Promotion Conference for Central Business District of SIAC was convened.
October 24, 2006, Shanghai Auto Museum was completed.
Jan 17, 2007, Shanghai Auto Museum was put into operation.
